Women Artists

Continual infusion and recognition of women's contributions to artistic production, analysis and collaboration are important. Broadening of respect for traditional crafts as fine art is still needed.

Women have only recently been included in art texts, galleries, etc. Their vast legacy of artwork and ideas about what art is, who makes it and how we talk about it is changing art production, criticism and history.

Women have contributed tremendously to art education as teachers, researchers, artists, and writers. They encourage and inspire all educators to promote and positively recognize girls and women in and through the arts.

Pricilla Sage, contemporary fabric artist, comes from a family of female artists and quilt makers.
