Individual and Cultural Differences

Individual and Cultural Differences are explored throughout the pluralistic curriculum of New Art Basics as well as respected within the student populations taught.

"Global Family Portrait" by Barbara Caldwell shows diversity within one group of international friends.

Many types of differences are studied in a pluralistic approach to art education. Inclusion of artists having varied aesthetic traditions, media choices, educations, ethnic heritage, and audiences yeilds a rich curriculum. What is traditional, natural or inside for one group may be unusual for another. Multiple perspectives, broad appreciation and intracultural understanding are basic pluralistic objectives.
