New Art Basics puts a primary focus on the formation process. Exploring the sources for creative design, the form-giving process of graphic ideation, and the universal and global reasons for creating form, the New Art Basics project explores, in its participating classrooms, the unique and specific contributions that artistic thinking adds to human cognition and knowledge acquisition. Form, the focus on the art object, is the result of the formation process, well executed. New Art Basics focuses on understanding the formation process, in operation, in the K-12 classroom.
